Familienangelegenheiten
Based on the idea that the family is the smallest political cell in which decisions about how to live together, how to make decisions together and how to respond to an ever-changing world can be negotiated on a daily basis, deufert&plischke together with artist friends, start a quest to collect stories from as many families as possible, to dance together and to share ideas and memories about what a family is.
All human beings are, have been or will be a family, which, as the nucleus of society, the smallest political cell, (un)safe space and point of reference, can question and break normative rules. It is and shapes society and its development shows the changeability of our being in the world.
With the performative and participatory exhibition «Familienangelegenheiten 2002 - 2023», deufert&plischke stage various media works (photography, film, radio play, participatory installation) of their life and artistic work of the last 20 years in, with and through the family, alongside works with artist friends and invitations to the public to share their family stories.
